ANC 3/4G-05 End of Term Announcement

It has been an honor and privilege to serve my neighbors and the city on ANC 3/4G. I am grateful for the trust you placed in me and the opportunity to represent our neighborhood filled with family and friends both new and old. I’m proud of the work we have done--from defending the rights of the homeless, navigating housing issues, the new community center/library, advocating for fully funded schools, raising up the call for DC Statehood, supporting local businesses, and bringing neighbors together for community solutions.

After careful consideration I have decided not to seek re-election. This decision was not made lightly.

If anyone is considering becoming a commissioner–in SMD 05 or anywhere else–and would like to speak about the role I’m happy to share all that I know and have learned during my term. This ANC area is lucky to have so many capable, talented, intelligent people that care about the public good. I have no doubt a qualified candidate will step up to take my place.

I’ve always been grateful for the former commissioners and fellow citizens who have offered their time and wisdom while I’ve been in this role. I hope to follow their example and promise to work hard for you, this community, and the city until the last day of my term.

Thank you all very much.

Peter Lynch
