Priorities

Engagement

In order that our ANC is effective, trusted, and valued by the community we must improve engagement, participation, clarity, responsiveness, and listen to the voice of all our neighbors.  I aim to continuously listen to any and all citizens that seek to be heard. I promise to engage with humility and respect knowing that I do not have all the answers, but collectively we do.

Beloved Community

If we can begin to see our neighbors as brothers & sisters who share a common future, we will all benefit. No matter how long you’ve been here, or your background, there is a place for you. I strive to help our community keep moving to a place that is just, inclusive, loving, thriving, and joyful. We can only create that community together.

Education

I promise to support our by-right community public schools and the public schools across all 8 wards–teachers, kids, parents, and staff– that are vital for the wellbeing of the city. My two nieces attend Lafayette so I have a family stake in this, but even if I didn’t, it would be clear that schools are the lifeblood of our democracy and our future. Education will always be paramount if I’m elected to the ANC.

DC Statehood

We do not have representation in Congress. We do not have the full rights, duties, and benefits of average Americans. That must change. We must have Statehood, and any elected official in DC should demand this loudly, clearly, and as often as possible. I promise to always do my part for Statehood on the ANC seat. Onward to the 51st State.
